One Day Special Workshop – “Differentiate yourself & stand out from the crowd with a Professional Qualification”

Achieving your first professional qualification can be quite a challenge but it is and should be an essential part of your personal development and equally important in you, as a professional photographer, providing the best images you possibly can for your clients. Accordingly, I have developed this one day workshop to motivate you to produce a panel of images in a limited time period in pursuit of a “Licentiateship” of a recognised qualifying body,. It simply requires the discipline and will, to undertake the task. For those who are extremely marketing focussed, this can also be an ideal opportunity to drive business and media attention to your Studio.

As a result of these workshops, you will be in a position to submit a portfolio to the leading professional photography bodies and gain that much-valued accreditation. Inevitably, this will help differentiate you from others in your area by proving you have the required technical skills and abilities to provide consistent work.  The ability to provide consistent work is one of the main things that (brides / clients etc) look for when choosing photographers.

In the first session we will discuss: 

How to choose a topic or subject for your submission

Generating ideas and creative thought processes

How to select images from your current portfolio

How to analyse your own images to identify defects and put them right

Critical Analysis – moving self evaluation to another phase

Why good composition and ‘Thinking outside the box” is so important

How to drive business by creating a “Qualification” panel

In the second session you will learn how to shoot with a personal style:

• Getting the lighting right – Quantity and Quality
• Lighting the face, Lighting the pose
• Getting your basic posing refined and identifying possible issues
• Shooting with creativity, flair, imagination & passion – Developing your personal path of study and development
• How to be different!

In the final session:

• Selecting the images for your panel
• Retouching your images – How much is too much in post processing
• Engaging in real ‘Mentoring’
• Discussing the content of your panel with your mentor
• Presenting your panel

This special Pre-Qualification Course has been specifically designed to allow its students to create a submission within a few months and be successful.

• Creative Workshops on Themed Portraiture, Steampunks & the Gothic Portrait – From £195.00 per place

On July 24th and 25th 2016 there was a spectacular two day Workshop inspired by the novels “Wuthering Heights” and “Pride and Prejudice” to be held in the Peak District of Derbyshire. Fantastic models and a packed itinerary for just 8 lucky delegates wishing to explore and expand their creativity. Each place was only £495.00 and included tuition, guidance, access to models, picnic lunches and a beautiful Album Epoca event book containing images and notes from the workshop.
